MaxJournal, the next generation…
We’re currently hard at work developing the next update for MaxJournal. There are significant changes I’d like to mention – Multiple Journals and the iPhone version.
I think that Apple assumed that (much like the iphone and ipod), the iPad would be a single user device. In our experience and in discussions with customers we’ve found that people consider and want the iPad to be ‘multiuser’ ready. Many apps, games, etc… don’t take into account the need for mutliple user settings or functionality. Obviously in a journal or diary app, this is very limiting for households or families. So we’ve developed MaxJournal to be a multi-user, multi-journal application! A single user can have multiple journals for different purposes (i.e. vacation journal, business, personal…), or a many people can have their own separate journals. Each journal has its own settings and its own password (if needed).
Our second big item is that the next update for MaxJournal will be Universal. That means an iPhone version folks! If you already own MaxJournal, when the update comes out you will get the iphone version for free.
Of course, it’s a long journey revamping maxjournal for the iphone – it’s why our latest development cycle is taking longer than usual! There is much to do. We’re developing a sync mechanism to keep the ipad and iphone journals in sync with each other. We’re redesigning all the maxjournal screens to work on the iphone. Plus implementing many other new features to maxjournal altogether.
Keep a look out on this blog for more news. Our ETA for next release is about a month from now (making it a mid-august release.)
